UK Anti-Doping’s (UKAD) is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its flagship education programme, 100% me.

Created in 2005, 100% me is recognised as one of the world’s leading anti-doping education programmes, and has supported over 25,000 athletes across 50 sports, to compete, and win, clean.

Since its formation in 2009, UKAD has, via the 100% me programme, delivered Clean Sport education workshops to British teams ahead of five Major Games, supporting athletes to win over 640 medals.

100% me also supports athletes at the start of their career and through the School Games, the programme has provided over 15,000 school children with guidance and information about clean sport.

Tracey Crouch MP, Minister for Sport, said:
“The government is fully behind UKAD's 100% me programme that educates British athletes on their responsibility to compete clean and what is expected of them in terms of testing. It is a vital tool in our fight against drugs in sport and I hope it continues to go from strength to strength over the next 10 years.”

Nicole Sapstead, UKAD Chief Executive said:
“Today is a special day for UKAD. Providing robust and engaging anti-doping education to athletes, at all levels, is a fundamental part of protecting clean sport, and it’s fantastic that we can celebrate 10 years of doing exactly that.”

“When 100% me was created it was hailed as innovative and engaging, capturing the attention of stakeholders at home and abroad. The strength of the brand has endured the test of time.”

“Testing alone will not protect sport from those who dope and supporting National Governing Bodies’ education delivery with the 100% me programme is integral to our prevention strategy. It’s important that we educate not only our current athletes, but the next generation, to ensure that they are able to make the right choices during their careers, protecting everyone’s right to clean sport.”

Liz Nicholl CEO of UK Sport said:
“Our goal is to support talented athletes to win medals and make the nation proud. UKAD’s 100% me programme helps protect the integrity of the competition and creates the right environment for athletes to fulfil their true potential.”

Bill Sweeney CEO of British Olympic Association, said:
“Team GB are the pride of the nation, we rely on the 100% me programme to ensure team members can compete confidently, clear on the rules of their event and their Games time responsibilities.”

Tim Hollingsworth, CEO of the British Paralympic Association said:
“The BPA has always been fully committed to clean sport as a fundamental principle of every aspect of ParalympicsGB activity. 100% me is crucial to an athlete’s education in order to minimise the risk of mistakes and to prevent doping. We want all our athletes and support staff to be the best they can be and in the very best place to succeed.”

Rob Koehler, WADA Senior Director, Education and NADO/RADO Relations said:
“Education continues to be the best way to create a climate in which clean sport can really prosper. We at WADA are pleased to join UKAD in celebrating the success of their 100% me programme over the past 10 years, and we look forward to continuing to work together in the months and years ahead.”
