The platform, announced today following a 6-week ‘soft-launch’ period, has been designed to support organisations from across the physical activity and sport sector in their efforts to identify and secure new investment and ultimately grow the scope and effectiveness of grassroots sport in London.
Developed and managed by London Sport, the London Sport Funding Search Tool is the first digital platform that focuses specifically on physical activity and sport for London. With over 350 individual grants listed at launch providing information on in excess of £17,000,000 in funding, the platform will help to support development opportunities across the capital, and provide a simpler and more direct route to securing additional investment for the sector.
Commenting on the launch, Caroline Brooks, Funding and Facilities Manager, London Sport, said:
“By creating a fully searchable digital platform, London Sport has been able to instantly open up new routes and opportunities for clubs, grassroots organisations and the rest of the sector across London.
“One of the key challenges facing the physical activity and sport sector is in securing appropriate investment; an issue that this platform has been designed specifically to address.
“I am thrilled that the London Sport Funding Search Tool is now live. We now looking forward to supporting organisations in their use of the Funding Search Tool and helping to bring new and additional investment into the sector.”
The announcement of the Funding Search Tool follows the launch of London Sport’s Insight and Data Portal earlier in 2016. Together, these tools will provide a valuable resource for the initial grant search stage and the development of applications for funding using up-to-date evidence curated by London Sport’s Insight team.
The Funding Search Tool is available for organisations to access now, at http://funding.londonsport.org
