Sport England has opened its online consultation on its new strategy, following on from the Government's strategy document which was released in December.
The consultation focuses on key areas that emerged from the Government’s new sport strategy. These include:
The Alliance will be consulting with its members through its division meetings where we’ll be joined by representatives from Sport England and the Department for Culture Media and Sport.
Our response will also be based on the extensive consultation work we did to inform our response to the Government’s sport strategy.
Emma Boggis, Chief Executive of the Alliance, said: "Sport England's consultation is another very important opportunity to feed in to important future developments, which will have an impact across the sector. We will be consulting with our members over the next month to make sure that our response reflects their views and we would encourage everyone to look to respond to the consultation directly as well.
Members will be reassured to know there are significantly less questions than when DCMS launched their consultation last summer, but much of the implementation of the Government Strategy is the responsibility of Sport England, so it is as important."
The Alliance started hearing what our members think this week at the first of our divisional meetings for Games and Sports members, with both Sport England and DCMS representation, and will replicating this over coming weeks with our other divisions. Our response will also be based on the extensive consultation work we did to inform our response to the Government’s sport strategy into which many of our members fed their views.
Organisations are invited to complete the online form by 26 February. You do not have to answer all the questions and there is an opportunity to make comments on areas not explicitly covered in the questions. You can find out more about Sport England's strategy consultation here.
