Second speaker confirmed for the Sports Summit

The second speaker for this year's Sports Summit has been announced this afternnon.

Giving insights around this year's theme of evidencing impact and measuring data will be Lee Preston.

Lee is Head of Sport and Community Activity at Manchester City Council.

Lee is responsible for the development and implementation of Manchester City Council’s Sport and Leisure policy, including all aspects of facility development and contracting, developing strategic plans for major sports events, school, community and elite sport and city wider physical activity provision.

Drawing on his first-hand experience of Manchester’s approach to evidencing the impact of sport and physical activity Lee will consider what the sector will need to do to work effectively with local government in future.

Lee joins Sport England CEO, Jennie Price, on a growing programme for the 2016 Summit, which is taking place at the Kia Oval on 25 May.

The speakers and workshops on the day will inform delegates and enable them to identify the following:

- How the new strategic framework is going to impact the sporting landscape
- Identify ways to apply insight and ensure its capture is of high quality
- How to measure, understand and communicate effectively around the impact of their work

A full agenda will be made available very soon and in the coming weeks more exciting keynote speakers and workshops will be announced.
