Public Health England has opened a consultation on developing a practical approach to increase levels of physical activity.
In April 2013 the statutory healthcare reforms outlined in the Health and Social Care Bill came into full effect.
These changes fundamentally altered the way the healthcare system operates and for the first time guaranteed ring-fenced public health funding.
Public Health England, the body responsible for the new healthcare system, now want to develop a national approach to increase levels of physical activity in local communities.
They have opened a consultation to learn from the experience and knowledge within national and local organisations to create a practical approach.
This is in line with the government’s Moving More, Living More campaign to increase physical activity levels.
The Sport and Recreation Alliance will be responding to the consultation, but organisations may also wish to respond individually.
If you have any questions about the consultation you can contact Policy Officer Simon Butler on 020 7976 3902020 7976 3902.
The Sport and Recreation Alliance has today released its 2024/25 Impact Report, highlighting some of the organisation’s key achievements from the last 12 months.
