Volunteers and groups have until 6 December to apply for Torch Trophy Trust bursaries of up to £1,000.

The Torch Trophy Trust is a charity that recognises, supports and rewards the tireless work of volunteers in sport and recreation.

The Sport and Recreation Alliance provides the day-to-day support for the organisation.

Torch Trophy Trust bursaries provide financial support to individuals or groups wishing to undertake training to help their club, organisation or community.

You can apply for one of the limited number of bursaries that are granted each year if:

  • you are a volunteer or group wanting to improve your knowledge or coaching skills
  • your governing body is keen to help but doesn’t have the funds to do so.

Bursaries range from £100-£1,000 and cannot account for more than 50% of the total costs involved, although exceptional applications may be considered.

A letter from your governing body must be provided to support the application.

Applications are welcome from all parts of the UK and from all sports, including disability and youth sports.

So if you are a volunteer or group wanting financial help to improve your knowledge or coaching skills download an application form or visit the Torch Trophy Trust website to find out more.

Completed application forms should be sent by email to Hayley Morris.

The deadline for bursary applications is 6 December.
