The two organisations have the taken the decision to join forces to enhance the strategic importance of disability equality in physical activity and sport across London, and will work together to ensure disabled people of all ages and abilities are supported in being active.

Interactive was developed to lead change, challenge and connect sectors to create opportunities so that disabled Londoners can choose to be active for life. Through the merger, London Sport will take on Interactive’s team of specialists in disability equality along with its existing projects and commitments.

London Sport’s vision is to get 1,000,000 Londoners more active by 2020 and to make London the most physically active city in the world. The merger will ensure that disabled people remain a critical part of this vision, while supporting grassroots sport across London by making the sector simpler and more efficient.

Angus Robertson, Director of Operations, London Sport said: “This merger is the right step for both Interactive and London Sport, and through our joint-efforts we will ensure disabled people remain crucial to achieving our vision of getting 1,000,000 Londoners more physically active by 2020.

Interactive’s team of specialists in disability equality will help to enhance London Sport’s activities and I am sure that this will have a positive impact on promoting disability equality in physical activity and sport across London.”
