National Fitness Day on 26 September 2014 is the largest celebration of physical activity in the UK.
Run by ukactive, National Fitness Day will provide mass participation events in public squares in London, Birmingham and Bristol. Exercise venues across the country will also host free “Power Half Hour” sessions in a range of activities, from zumba and spin classes to swim relays and body combat.
David Stalker, Chief Executive of ukactive, believes National Fitness Day will give people the impetus they need to get active.
“National Fitness Day is all about providing the inspiration to get active.
“It’s about creating a social movement that offers everyone an opportunity to get involved in physical activity, for free, through a ‘Power Half Hour’ event on their doorstep. And it’s about kick-starting the journey into regular exercise for thousands of people across the country, so that we have a healthier, happier nation.”
