The working groups have been running over the last couple of years and:
• are themed groups that cut across our division categories
• specifically focused on informing our work in key areas – although we ensure that any major policy discussions still take place at divisional meetings
• the person from your organisation on the group is not necessarily the member representative – it should be the policy/parliamentary/campaigning lead or the person best placed to inform this type of activity
We have revised the terms of reference for two of the groups - the Health Working Group (formerly Public Health Working Group) and Outdoors Working Group (formerly Access Working Group). We have done this to make the groups more flexible and able to respond better to external activity as well as proactive work. We have also had some changes to our membership so wanted to open the groups up again and allow new people to join.
We are in the process of developing our wider 2017-21 strategy and will keep the way that we engage with members, including through these groups, under review during this period. However, the work of the groups will be continuing throughout this process.
