Reflecting on the announcement, Andrew Moss, Chair of the Alliance, said: “We are delighted to see someone with such passion, drive and experience take up the position as Chair of Sport England.
“At a time when our sector’s role in supporting the nation’s health and wellbeing has never been more crucial, Chris’ appointment will, I’m sure, help ignite new opportunities for us all to recover and emerge stronger from this pandemic.
“Chris’ desire to help and support more people in more communities to be active ties directly into our work to ensure physical activity is truly available and enjoyed by everyone.
