Alliance releases annual Impact Report

Alliance releases annual Impact Report news article image

In a year that was both challenging and transformative, the report demonstrates how we continued to provide expert-led guidance, advice and support to our members and the sector so that millions could continue to be active as the nation battled with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Highlights include delivering eight first-class events to almost 3,000 people across the year, gaining the support of more than 100 sports bodies and the Sports Minister for the UK’s bid to bring home the International Working Group on Women in Sport and leading an important sector-wide response to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Lisa Wainwright MBE, CEO of the Sport and Recreation Alliance, said, “We are immensely proud that we have been able to continue to deliver for our members at a time when our lives and ways of working changed to an extent most of us could never have imagined.

“We owe our thanks to the hard work of our grassroots clubs, coaches, and volunteers, and all those in our sector whose strength and resilience kept communities connected, spirits uplifted and physical activity alive when it was needed more than ever.

“All being well, we very much look forward to meeting everyone in person again this year as we look to deliver a host of new and exciting flagship events, training courses and dedicated services.

“Our main focus will be on making sure we effectively deliver against the outcomes of our new strategy and that our members are given a platform to recover and achieve in the months ahead.”
