The Sport and Recreation Alliance's chair, Andy Reed, was today awarded an OBE for services to the community and to sport in Leicestershire.
Andy previously served as the MP for Loughborough for 13 years, during which time he acted as parliamentary private secretary to Kate Hoey while she was sports minister – and his life-long passion for sport has continued to this day.
Alongside his role as chair of the Sport and Recreation Alliance, Andy is firmly entrenched within the sector – leading the county sports partnership for Leicestershire, chairing the Voice of Sports Volunteers (SSPV) and the Volleyball England Foundation, as well as serving on the boards of the Special Olympics GB and of the ASA.
