We welcome the appointment of our new Directors and I look forward to benefiting from the diverse range of skills they bring to the Board. This is a very exciting time for the Alliance and we welcome the chance for new opinions and experience to help us better support our members.’
We recruit all new Directors on a competency basis. This year, the process attracted a pleasing number of applicants from a diverse range of industries with a variety of experience. For the new Director positions, we were pleased to be able to shortlist with an equal split of female and male candidates. The recruitment process implemented is part of a wider objective to be more diverse and set a precedent for gender diversity. As of July, women will represent 29% of the Board and senior management positions.
If you are a member of the Alliance and would like to speak to someone about how to recruit on a competency basis with the aim of attracting a diverse range of candidates, please feel free to call us on 020 7976 3900.
The Sport and Recreation Alliance and the physical activity sector have published an open letter to the Government on the impact of Pathways to Work on disabled people and activity levels across the UK.
