Sponsored by the Foundation for Sport and the Arts and runningsports, SCOTY is now in its 16th year and recognises the significant contribution of sport and recreation clubs at a grassroots level.
CCPR chief executive Tim Lamb said:
"We're delighted to be awarding a prize to the University Sports Club of the Year in association with runningsports. This new category recognises the importance of university sport not only in supporting our elite athletes but also in developing a love of sports for all the students involved. We look forward to seeing the stars of the future rewarded today."
Runningsports Partnership Development Manager Margaret Nolan said:
Runningsports is proud to be associated with the SCOTY awards and is delighted to be supporting the continued success of these long-standing awards through sponsorship of the Universities category. We see university sport as a pillar of sport in the UK, allowing many to experience new, varied and exciting opportunities. We will continue to identify ways in which Runningsports can support university programmes and build on their existing success.
"Support for this SCOTY category is one such way as we feel it is time to recognise the importance of university sport. Good luck to all the applicants."
