Use your voice to shout about the value of National Lottery investment into sport

Whether it’s supporting our Olympic and Paralympic heroes to win gold on the world stage or funding new equipment for a community club, the National Lottery makes sport possible from grassroots to the elite.

In 2025 National Lottery Good Causes funding supported over £228m in grants for grassroots community sport and in total almost £9bn has been invested into sport since the National Lottery began in 1994.

This funding has huge impact. Our elite success at Olympic and Paralympic Games puts Britain on the map and gives us all a collective sense of national pride and belonging. And grassroots community sport brings millions of people together every week, improves health and wellbeing and creates joy in every corner of the country.

Government has now launched a Call for Evidence on how National Lottery Good Causes money is spent. This review will shape the way National Lottery money is spent for the next generation.

As part of this, Government is asking what priorities National Lottery money should be spent on, how the money should be distributed and how it can be made more accessible.

Given the huge impact National Lottery funding for sport delivers, we’re calling on you to #SpeakUpForSport and ensure this funding continues for the next decade and beyond.
