This is a fantastic initiative spearheaded by Angela Rippon CBE, who following her success on Strictly and reaping the benefits of regular dance, has one mission - to get the nation dancing!

What is Let's Dance?

Let’s Dance is a nation-wide movement of dance organisations, charities, health professionals, community groups, celebrities getting together on the 2nd of March 2025.  With just one objective – to get more people dancing.

Let's Dance aims to:

  • Raise awareness for the benefits of dance, for your mental and physical health
  • Make it easier than ever for people to join in and find a suitable dance activity, whatever their fitness level, age or experience
  • Bring people together across divides to connect through dance

Ultimately, we want people to get fit, connect and have fun. Let’s dance!

UPDATE: We are delighted to confirm that the Let's Dance! Event Guide is available in the next section of this page. The guide includes everything you and/or your organisation need to put on an event on Sunday 2nd March, from help raising awareness to risk assessment information.

How do I get involved?

Join Let’s Dance on the 2nd March. Our ask is simple: help get the nation dancing!

This could look like:

  • Hosting dance event(s) that engage new people in dance
  • Spreading the word to dance teachers & the public
  • Inviting dance teachers (For non-dance organisations) to collaborate with your organisation.

We have created a pack to help you spread the word - which includes content for websites, newsletters and social media.

Why Dance?

Dancing brings a unique combination of benefits to individuals, communities, and society. Dance gets us moving – together – to tackle chronic health challenges, combat loneliness, and spend time with people we wouldn’t usually meet.

In 2023 Alliance research showed that despite saving the nation billions in supporting physical and mental health and despite its unique power at getting some of our most inactive populations moving, dance is highly underused it is in this country.

We must do more as the more we dance, the better we will all be – as individuals, and as a society.
