The Sport and Recreation Alliance is pleased to announce that VolunteerKinetic has become the latest Corporate Partner to join the roster.
VolunteerKinetic is an online volunteer platform that powers great volunteers. The platform was established five years ago for Manchester City Council Sports Development and was known at the time as ManchesterVSB. This early version of the platform was given the task of recruiting 300 volunteers over a three-year period, yet after only two months it had far exceeded that target, registering 2,000 new volunteers. Other users of VolunteerKinetic have seen similar levels of growth and impact, with over 30,000 registered volunteers and 140,000 hours of volunteering recorded.
According to research from the National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NVCO) about 28% of the UK population volunteers once a year and research from Join In and Sport England both report that sports volunteering accounts for over 25% of all volunteering. They calculate that each club uses 26 volunteers on average each year and that each volunteer has the potential to create opportunities for up to 8.5 participants. They estimate over 3.2 million people help to support grass roots sport and sporting events every year.
VolunteerKinetic's objective is to provide a simple solution to volunteer management challenges, enabling volunteers and opportunity providers to continue to do what they do best, whilst giving organisations the data and insights to grow.
VolunteerKinetic aims to make establishing a volunteering network as easy, rewarding and horizon expanding as possible. As such, VolunteerKinetic has been designed to provide key performance data, communication tools and management options that enable organisations to manage exponentially more volunteers, whilst simultaneously helping to inform decision making and future trajectory.
Alliance member Badminton England initially purchased VolunteerKinetic to solve the issue of recruiting new volunteers for its major events programme. The organisation now intends to roll out the successful events programme to all other areas of the governing body. Having helped provide volunteers for the All England events and the Grand-Prix event at the Copperbox, Badminton England head of Events Nicola Moloney said “VolunteerKinetic and the team behind it have been great. We have more volunteers than ever before and we are enjoying a new relationship with those volunteers that has been enabled by the website.”
The Sport and Recreation Alliance looks forward to working closely with VolunteerKinetic to help members realise the full potential of volunteers and to grow passionate support networks. We are pleased to announce that Alliance members can receive a 10% discount when signing-up to the VolunteerKinetic platform.
