OutPlay Squash is an LGBTQ+ inclusive squash club based in London, who play four times a week at venues in the centre of the capital, and organise regular social events. They also participate in tournaments in the UK and across Europe.
Players of all ages and abilities are able to join, with the club open to complete beginners as well as experienced players. Though the club is LGBTQ+ inclusive, it does not exclude friends of members who are not themselves part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Joanna Rowbottom, Head of Partnerships and Communities at England Squash, outlined the governing body’s commitment to inclusion in the sport:
“England Squash’s ambition is to create a thriving, diverse and growing squash community that is inclusive for everyone regardless of their background.
“As part of our work to ensure the make-up of the squash community better reflects the society in which we live, we’re working alongside LGBTQ+ squash clubs and players to increase our understanding and ensure squash is accessible for all LGBTQ+ people.
“By highlighting personal stories and best practice, we will drive awareness and inspire more squash clubs to create welcoming and safer experiences for LGBTQ+ players that allows them to feel their authentic selves.
“While Pride Month and LGBT+ History Month are important campaigns for us to celebrate, it’s a chance for us to listen and learn from the LGBTQ+ community on how we can continue to improve the accessibility of the sport.”
