Cathryn’s rise to the top has been nothing short of inspiring, exhibiting maturity and wisdom well beyond her years.

With a decade of experience working with local and national government, she is already a well-respected name in the industry and has just been appointed Head of Policy and Public Affairs at Catch22, a charity working to reform the way public services are delivered in the UK.

Speaking of her passion, Cathryn said “I have always strived to work towards social change, helping to raise people’s aspirations regardless of their background or circumstance, so that everyone feels motivated by a positive future.”

Cathryn has pushed for this previously having held a Board role for The Girls’ Network where she oversaw the governance of a charity matching girls from lower socio-economic backgrounds with inspirational female mentors.

And she’s now looking forward to championing this further at the Alliance.

“I feel proud to sit on a board that advocates for equality and inclusion; a board where I, as a young woman, can confidently take a seat at the table with my colleagues and know that I will have my voice heard.

“The universal popularity of sport and recreation, and the wealth of benefits it can bring, make it the perfect tool for building confidence, unleashing potential and bringing communities closer together.”

“I feel privileged to have the chance to use my position to show young girls the potential they too have, and how, collectively, we can keep breaking down barriers in the sector for generations to come.”

Cathryn’s talents were recognised in 2017 as she was named as one of Haymarket Media’s ’30 under 30’ for her work engaging government on challenging social issues.

That same year she also successfully co-designed and managed the delivery and strategic development of the UK’s most successful small business campaign.

An avid sports fan, Cathryn is motivated by the potential to improve society through innovation and is passionate about the power of sport for community development.
