Mike Power OBE and Phil Chamberlain have been elected by Alliance members to join the board of directors.

The ballot to decide the two elected positions on our board closed at 12 noon on Tuesday 15 April 2014.

Phil Chamberlain, Policy and Communications Director at the Youth Sport Trust, and Mike Power OBE, Independent Director at British Swimming have been chosen by our members to take up the two elected Director positions on the Alliance board.

Phil joins the board as a new Director. Throughout his 20-year career, Phil has worked within government, Lottery distribution and the education and charity sectors, covering policy development, programme design and delivery, political influence, communication and promotion – but sport, physical education and activity has always been a consistent thread.

Mike has been re-elected as a board member. He has 33 years’ experience and expertise in leading organisations at divisional president level in one of the world’s premier consumer products companies. He currently holds the position of Senior Director on the Alliance board.

Phil and Mike will commence their three-year term of office after this year’s Annual General Meeting on 9 July 2014.
