We are always pleased to hear about campaigns which our members are launching or working on and earlier this week we received a ‘Go Spike! Get into Volleyball ‘ game in a bag from Volleyball England as part of their Go Spike campaign which is designed to attract a wider audience to participate in volleyball.
The aim of Go Spike is to get 10,000 more people playing volleyball by 2013 and the campaign is being rolled out nationwide via an array of informal ‘turn up and try’ Go Spike sessions. The ‘Go Spike’ sessions will be running at a range of music, entertainment and charity events between June and September and there will also be regular Go Spike sessions in parks and other public places.
We think this is a great campaign and a way of capitalising on the publicity of London 2012 to create a lasting legacy for Volleyball and encourage a new following of the sport in the future. We were so inspired by the campaign we decided to use our game in a bag to set up a game in our office!
