The London Marathon Charitable Trust, the charitable trust of the London Marathon that supports organisations and communities that are committed to inspiring and increasing the numbers of people regularly taking part in sports and physical activities, has introduced two funding streams for 2015.

The Trust has introduced funding for Small Capital and Major Capital Project Grants:
• Small Capital Project Grants of between £5,000 and £19,999.
• Major Capital Project Grants of between £20,000 and £150,000.

The Trust’s main priorities remain the same for both funds: to encourage and support increased participation in sport and physical activity, especially amongst one or more of the following:

• Individuals who are currently physically inactive or who have low levels of activity.
• Groups that are currently physically inactive or who have low levels of activity.
• Children and young people outside of school hours.

Not-for-profit organisations with a written constitution can apply. This includes registered charities, community amateur sports clubs, community interest companies, social enterprises and sports clubs and groups.

Organisations established by statute or statutory powers, including schools and local authorities, are also eligible to apply. All organisations must also have a governing committee of three or more non-related and non-cohabiting members.

Organisations wishing to apply for a Small Capital Project grant can do so at any time, and the Trust will begin considering applications from July 2015 onwards.

The Major Capital Project Grants programme has a two-stage online application process, and funding decisions will be made four times a year. While applications can also be submitted at any time, the Trust will not begin reviewing Major Capital project applications until October 2015.
