The Alliance is delighted to announce that Ruth Hall and Alex Jordan have joined the Board, and started their four-year terms following the Alliance’s Annual General Meeting on 15 October.
At the same time, Caroline White has stepped down from the Board having served for seven years over two terms. Everyone at the Alliance would like to thank Caroline for her incredible contribution to the organisation over the past seven years, and wish her all the best for the future.
Ruth Hall, Chief Executive Officer at Archery GB, has taken up the position of Elected Director, having been elected by the Alliance’s membership earlier in the year via e-ballot.
Ruth became Archery GB’s CEO straight from Sport England's National Outdoor Centre with 15 years' executive leadership experience, and four years in the sports industry. She has a strong record of commercial success throughout her career, working in leadership roles within large membership organisations, and has worked with a number of companies at Board level that have looked to modernise as well as develop a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusivity. Ruth also holds other Board positions in sport, including Wales' national governing body for paddle sport, Canoe Wales.
Alex Jordan, Chair of Skateboard GB, has taken up the position of Appointed Director, having been appointed by the Alliance’s Board.
Alex’s professional background is in digital marketing, web development and transformation. He is currently responsible for digital marketing at Majestic Wine, having previously founded the digital agency Hyperlink and overseen the tech and marketing functions of the stock photography agency Image Source as Chief Technology Officer. He has an MBA and has completed various qualifications in business sustainability, finance and governance.
Alex began skateboarding as a teenager, which led to him opening a skate shop. He subsequently founded The Skateparks Project, which has mapped all the skateparks in the UK and supported over 100 skatepark projects. He became a director of Skateboard England in 2019, before merging the NGB with Skateboard GB where he has served as Chair since 2020.
