About Us

Are you passionate about the growth of women’s football? Motivated by the incredible rise of the Lionesses and the momentum across the country? We are looking for a Women’s Community Football Officer to help drive forward recreational female football and to create more playing opportunities for women and girls across the county.

Based at our Chelmsford headquarters, with a blend of hybrid working, the successful candidate will join our expanding Development Team. You’ll play a key role in strengthening the Female Player Pathway and helping to ensure that football is accessible, enjoyable and sustainable for every woman and girl in Essex. Applications close on Monday 15th December.

About The Role

Why This Role Matters: Women’s and girls’ football is one of the fastest-growing areas of the sport, and there has never been a more exciting time to get involved. As we work towards the ambitious goals set out in our #MovingForward Strategy 2028, we’re committed to creating long-term, meaningful change - and this role will be central to achieving it.

What You’ll Do: You’ll begin by developing a strong understanding of the current female football landscape in Essex, helping to identify opportunities for growth. Working closely with local partners and stakeholders - particularly within Barking & Dagenham and Newham - you’ll design and deliver a targeted development plan to expand recreational football for women and girls. Your responsibilities will include:

* growing female playing opportunities
* expanding opportunities through casual formats, such as the Wildcats, Squad Girls and Just Play programmes
* supporting Walking Football, small-sided provision and ‘flexi leagues’
* increasing participation amongst underrepresented groups
