About Us

About British Triathlon

British Triathlon is the home of Swim Bike Run and is proud to govern the sports of triathlon, aquathlon, duathlon and aquabike. Our members are the Home Nations of Triathlon England, Triathlon Scotland and Welsh Triathlon Cymru.

About The Role

Overview

We are looking for an inspiring and highly skilled technical coach to lead the British Triathlon Paralympic coaching team, supporting our Paratriathletes on their journey to global success, including World Championships and Paralympic Games.

The Person

As our Paralympic Lead Coach, you'll be at the heart of our coaching efforts, working closely with the Head of Paratriathlon to implement a coaching philosophy that reflects British Triathlon's core values, driving success across all levels of the Paralympic performance pathway through the British Way, a consistent and coherent approach to developing world class Paratriathletes.

  • You'll be responsible for the technical coaching for athletes across the programme, but primarily delivering technical swim/bike/run training at the Loughborough training centre.
  • You'll provide expert support and direction, ensuring athletes develop in line with the highest standards on the world stage.
  • You will also oversee the development of individual athlete plans and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to support athletes' goals and delivery against their annual plans.

In addition to your role as the technical coach, you'll act as the lead coach at major national and international competitions, including World Triathlon Para Cups, World Triathlon Para Series, World/European Championships, and the Paralympic Games. As an integral part of the Paralympic Games project, you'll oversee technical coach delivery at preparation camps, individual qualification strategies, and ensure athletes and staff can deliver their best on One Day, One Race.

What We're Looking For:

  • A fantastic coach, but also a strong leader and communicator. You'll thrive on building relationships and have a clear vision for athlete development.
  • Possessing a deep understanding of Paratriathlon and the individual disciplines (swim, bike, run) will enable you to support athletes at the highest level. We're looking for someone with a proven track record in leading multidisciplinary teams and athletes to success at major international competitions.
  • Ideally, you'll have experience of coaching at Paralympic or World level, with at least a Level 2 coaching qualification, and will be comfortable making tough decisions when needed. You should also be someone who can bring out the best in athletes and their support teams, challenging them where necessary, while offering the support and expertise they need to reach their goals in high pressure environments.

Why Join Us?

At British Triathlon, we're driven by the success of our athletes and the pursuit of excellence. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of elite Paratriathletes, and to be part of a passionate and dedicated team. If you're someone who thrives on the challenge of leading, coaching, and inspiring others, this could be the role for you. We value the different perspectives that a more representative workforce will bring to our work, and are particularly keen to hear from applicants from diverse communities and backgrounds. If you're excited by this challenge and want to help shape the future of Paralympic Triathlon, we encourage you to apply.

British Triathlon offers a competitive benefits package that includes:

  • 25 days annual leave, increasing with length of service, enhanced with a flexible holiday buying scheme
  • Enhanced Maternity, Paternity & Adoption pay
  • A commitment to your development, with regular time ringfenced for personal and collaborative learning and development
  • 2 days paid volunteer leave
  • Free and accessible parking outside our Loughborough head office and secure covered bike storage
  • Pension scheme, life assurance scheme, and private medical insurance to care for you and your loved ones
  • Support for a healthy lifestyle, including discounted gym membership at Loughborough University campus and a cycle to work scheme

British Triathlon is passionate about developing an environment that makes Britain the worlds leading triathlon nation, enabling success and increasing participation. We're looking for people who can bring skills and ambition to an inclusive, people-centred workplace, who are determined to create positive impact, and who value doing whats right above doing what is expected.
