About The Role

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Operations Lead to lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of our facilities, grounds, sports pitches, buildings and community sites. This is a key role responsible for ensuring our facilities remain safe, well-maintained and fit for purpose, supporting the delivery of a wide range of community programmes, sporting activities and events. You will oversee facilities management, health and safety compliance, contractor management, asset maintenance and operational planning while promoting a positive safety culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of facilities, buildings, grounds, sports pitches and community sites.
  • Manage planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure facilities remain fit for purpose.
  • Oversee health and safety compliance, including risk assessments, inspections and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain asset registers, compliance records and maintenance schedules.
  • Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time and within budget.
  • Support the planning and delivery of community programmes, events and activities.
  • Ensure facilities are prepared and operationally ready for all users and events.
  • Monitor utilities, waste management and resource usage, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture across the organisation.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Supervise and support facilities staff and volunteers.
  • Build positive relationships with colleagues, community partners, contractors and external agencies.
  • Provide advice and guidance on facilities management, maintenance and health and safety matters.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of facilities, operations and sustainability initiatives.
