British Dressage is the governing body for the Olympic sport of Dressage and the Paralympic sport of Para-dressage.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join British Dressage in the important role of Development Officer for the North & East Region. Working from home, but involving extensive travel across the region, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing our competition and training throughout the North & East, promoting and developing British Dressage in the region. The Development Officer is responsible for co-ordinating and organising activity in the region, in line with the strategy and policies agreed by BD's Technical Committees and Board of Directors.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and energetic team player, with excellent inter-personal, communication and organisational skills. You will need to be independent, proactive, and self-motivated, with an in-depth knowledge of affiliated dressage, preferably located within the region. Reporting into the Regional and Volunteer Manager, you will work closely with, and under the direction of, the volunteer Regional Committee for the North & East region, which includes a Chairperson and representatives for coaches, riders, judges, para dressage, youth, and marketing.
British Dressage has ambitious plans for the future, and you will play a central part in delivering a range of dynamic initiatives in a thriving region. This busy and varied position requires a flexible approach to working, with evening and weekend work an essential aspect of the role, including occasional overnight stays away from home. Candidates will be required to have a full driving license and have access to their own car for travel. As you will be home based, a suitable working environment and good internet access is essential, along with high standards of computer literacy and extensive experience of Microsoft Office.
