British Wrestling (BWA) is the National Governing Body for wrestling in the UK, including the Olympic and Commonwealth styles of wrestling and other styles within the remit of United World Wrestling, as well as other indigenous forms of wrestling. The British Wrestling Association Ltd is a company limited by guarantee, incorporated in 2008. It has, as its voting members, the three English regions (North, Midlands and South) and the home countries of Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
British Wrestling has a network of clubs, coaches and individual members across the voting members providing access to the sport throughout Britain. British Wrestling represents Great Britain internationally and is a member of United World Wrestling, the British Olympic Association and the Commonwealth Games Council. British Wrestling is recognised by Sport England and UK Sport and operates as both the British and English governing body enabling synergy of effort to support and govern wrestling.
British Wrestling owns and manages the British Wrestling Academy based in Salford. In addition to being the head office for the small British Wrestling professional workforce, the Academy has two wrestling mats, a fully equipped strength and conditioning area, a sauna and changing facilities.

British Wrestling, the national governing body for wrestling in the UK, is seeking to appoint a Development Manager (Competitions) to deliver our mission of promoting and developing the sport of wrestling so that everyone achieves their potential on and off the mat. This is an exciting opportunity to join the national governing body for the Olympic and Commonwealth sport of wrestling.
The Development Manager (Competitions) will work alongside the existing Development Manager (Workforce) to support partners, clubs, and regions to increase participation, retention and tackle inequalities in participation. The successful candidate will have experience working with clubs and communities to deliver inclusive events and competitions that grow participation. Specifically, this post will work with the Sport Technical Committee to coordinate and develop the competition structure for the sport including the delivery of international, and national competitions and leagues.
