About The Role
Table Tennis England is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Coach Developer to support the growth and development of coaches across the country.
Fundamental to the development of table tennis players is the development of coaches. The coach developer will play a pivotal role in enhancing and promoting coaching standards and supporting the development of coaches operating in our talent environments. The purpose of the role is to mentor, educate, and support coaches primarily in talent environments, ensuring that coaching practices align with Table Tennis England’s strategic objectives and the coach excellence framework.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of coaching in table tennis.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Coach Learning & Development Manager to implement Table Tennis England’s Coach Excellence Framework.
- Support the Coach Developer network by helping to train, mentor, and quality-assure coach developers across the country.
- Deliver engaging and practical coaching workshops, webinars, and CPD courses.
- Support in the development and implementation of formal coaching standards working with CIMSPA and other relevant stakeholders.
- Encourage inclusive coaching practices, ensuring equal access and opportunities for all coaches and players.
- Support the Coach Learning & Development Manager and Head of Talent Pathway to align coaching standards with Table Tennis England’s Player Development Framework.
- Engage with clubs and Pathway Development Centres to promote best coaching practices and professional development opportunities.
- Observe and assess coaches, providing structured feedback and personalised development plans.
- Ensure quality assurance in all Table Tennis England coach development programmes by maintaining high standards in delivery and assessment.
- Work with the Coach Learning & Development Manager to evaluate and continuously improve coaching courses, CPD programmes, and our new online learning platform
- Support ongoing professional development of coach developers ensuring they have access to the research, tools, and learning resources.
- Support the development and expansion of online and digital learning platforms to make coach education more accessible, engaging and rewarding.
- Grow and maintain relationships with relevant external partners to coaching.
- Support specified talent coaches in the network with coach development plans, and meet regularly to review
- Design and deliver coaching clinics in line with the early development and emerging talent sections of the player development framework
- Support the development of coaching conferences and events in the talent space
- Support the development of coaching content for National Hopes Week
- Support the delivery of content on the SHEcoaches programme
