About Us

British Triathlon is the home of Swim Bike Run and is proud to govern the sports of triathlon, aquathlon, duathlon and aquabike. Our members are the Home Nations of Triathlon England, Triathlon Scotland and Welsh Triathlon Cymru.

Triathlon provided some of the most memorable and iconic moments of the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics as well as many inspired by Paris swim, bike, run activities back at home. We are looking for people committed to providing the country with more inspiring moments for our sport in years to come, both on the world stage as well as at the grassroots.

British Triathlon runs World Class Programmes for our elite athletes across both the Olympic and Paralympic pathways, delivering multiple medal winning performances in Paris 2024, the World Championships and many more events besides. Alongside the elite level, we deliver several programmes at the grassroots level to help grow participation, develop our sport, serve our clubs network and support the thousands of members, volunteers, coaches, technical officials and deliverers without whom our sport would not be possible.

Our social impact in place based work and our strive to tackle inequalities, as well as providing a leading voice on sustainability issues, supports our purpose and provides a positive connection across our communities. We are on an exciting journey of transformation to ensure British Triathlon is fit for the future, for LA2028 and beyond. We will continue to grow participation and engagement in our sport across our Home Nations through innovative programmes and events, supported by our community and partners. Our team is ambitious, supportive and importantly likes to have fun! We are looking for people who share our vision and can help us drive our exciting transformation.

About The Role

British Triathlon and Triathlon England are looking to recruit a Club and Workforce Officer for the South East Region, extending and deepening our current regional team to provide enhanced support primarily to affiliated clubs as well as the sports paid and volunteer workforce. This is a relatively new role and is a central component of our strategy in England to grow, diversify and deliver swim, bike, run and triathlon. Focusing on the core of our sport, this role is crucial in our ability to see clubs thrive as well as support connected strategic areas in membership, workforce, tackling inequalities, safeguarding and beyond.

Our Regional Team works operationally around six boundaries; each Region led by a full-time Regional Manager. The South East Club and Workforce Officer will cover the counties of: Essex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, Kent and Greater London. They will be supported, managed and overseen by the Regional Manager.

We are looking for a passionate, committed and engaging sports development professional with a strong knowledge of the vital role sports clubs play in communities and in the journey participants and members might take within swim, bike, run and triathlon. The successful candidate will have experience in implementing club development and support strategies and systems, as well as solid understanding of club and committee governance and operations, and the role of volunteers in sport. A knowledge of swim, bike, run and triathlon is desirable but not essential.

This is a challenging role, in the absolute engine room of our sport. Being able to listen, support and mentor on the ground, support and shape national priorities, and an ability to understand within and across the NGB will define success for these positions. We expect this role to have a significant impact on our local core sport landscape, including with members and participants. You will be part of a committed team at the heart of this fast-growing sport, with the opportunity to be part of some truly iconic sporting moments.

British Triathlon is one of the most dynamic and forward-thinking National Governing Bodies of sport in the UK. We have an aspirational and exciting development strategy for England (www.britishtriathlon.org/the-big-active) and we need a passionate, engaging and committed person to join us in this critical role to help us achieve our goals. The role will be home-based. The nature of the role, and its primary remit, will require extensive travel within and across the region as well as a working profile of more evening and weekend working hours compared to daytime working hours.
