The Sport and Recreation Alliance have joined eleven organisations, including the Ramblers and The British Horse Society, which represent a broad range of people who care about the great outdoors, in issuing a statement expressing their concerns about the Public Bodies Bill, currently in the House of Lords.

The group of tweleve organisations oppose those elements of the Public Bodies Bill which give government wideranging and unfettered powers to alter the nature and functions of bodies which hold land for the public benefit. In particular, the group are concerned that the Bill allows ministers to alter the National Park Authorities and the Forestry Commission.

The full statement on the Public Bodies Bill from the group can be viewed here.
