Jack Nicklaus (18) and Tiger Woods (15) lead the way for the men with the most Major titles in the history of the professional game.
Who is golf ideal for?
Golf is a fun, family sport for everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or physical ability. In fact, golf is unique in the sense that a child can compete against a parent or grandparent on an equal footing thanks to the system of handicaps. More than that, golf is a healthy outdoor pursuit and is great for mental wellbeing with a fantastic social scene.
What do I need to get started?
Just bring positivity and enthusiasm! Beginners will be made welcome as golf clubs are eager to encourage newcomers and many will provide tuition and have equipment to borrow for those just starting out.
How do I find my local club?
It’s easy. England Golf represents over 1,800 affiliated clubs and facilities and there are ranges and 9-hole courses as well as 18-hole venues to choose from. Go to the ‘Find and Play’ section on the England Golf website which will help you identify facilities in your local area.
