Nominations open for special Community Sport and Recreation Awards: Youth Edition 2025, to mark Alliance’s 90th anniversary news article image

To mark the Alliance’s 90th anniversary, we are launching the Community Sport and Recreation Awards: Youth Edition 2025, which will celebrate the next generation of young leaders from across the sector.

While 2025 will be a year to look back and celebrate the achievements of the Alliance (formerly the Central Council of Physical Recreation), we also wanted to take an opportunity to look to the future, and this special edition of our flagship awards is the perfect way to do so.

There are nine award categories, which reflect the breadth of the contribution young people make to the sport and recreation sector. Find a brief description of each of the categories below, and click on the links to find out more and apply (please note that nominees must be aged between 18-30 during 2025):

Young Coach of the Year - CLICK HERE
This award recognises an outstanding coach who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and innovation in sports coaching.

Young Advocate of the Year - CLICK HERE
This award recognises a young person who has passionately championed a cause within the sport and recreation community.

Young Community Champion of the Year - CLICK HERE
This award recognises an inspiring individual who has made significant contributions to their community through sport and recreation.

Young Sustainability Innovator of the Year - CLICK HERE
This award recognises an individual who has shown exceptional creativity and dedication in integrating sustainability within the sport and recreation community.

Young Inclusivity Champion of the Year - CLICK HERE
This award recognises an inspiring individual who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to promoting inclusivity within the sport and recreation community.

Young Fundraiser of the Year - CLICK HERE
This award recognises an exceptional individual who has demonstrated outstanding dedication and innovation in raising funds for sports, recreation or physical activity related causes.

Young Sports Official of the Year - CLICK HERE
This award recognises an outstanding individual who has demonstrated exceptional skill, integrity, and dedication in their role as a sports official.

Young Entrepreneur of the Year - CLICK HERE
This award recognises an exceptional individual who has demonstrated remarkable innovation, vision, and business acumen in the sport and recreation sector.

Young STEM in Sport Award - CLICK HERE
This award recognises an individual who has made significant contributions to the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in the sport and recreation sector.

These awards represent a fantastic opportunity for young people from across the sport and recreation sector to be recognised for their achievements, and highlighted as leaders of the next generation.

There will be an exciting celebration of our finalists later in 2025, to tie in with events to mark the Alliance’s 90th anniversary – more information on that to come!

Nominating a young person (aged 18-30) for an award couldn’t be more simple – all you have to do is:
