The Sport and Recreation Alliance is pleased to announce two new elected members of its board, Paul Thorogood and Lyn West, following a ballot of the organisations 250 voting members.
Paul has been the chief executive of the Football Foundation since 2006 following a distinguished 30 year career with the Royal Air Force and Ministry of Defence.
Lyn is currently the chair of British Orienteering and brings a wealth of experience in both the sports and voluntary sector.
Paul and Lyn will start their three-year terms of office from the conclusion of this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 9 July.
Tim Lamb, chief executive of the Sport and Recreation Alliance, said:
“I’d like to welcome both Paul and Lyn into their roles on the Sport and Recreation Alliance board of directors.
“They’ve joined the Alliance at an exciting time and I’m sure that they will both play a key role in shaping the organisation's future."
The Sport and Recreation Alliance was delighted to join over 900 delegates from around the world from 9-11 July, at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham, for the International Working Group (IWG) on Women & Sport Global Summit 2026.
