Market Road pitches in Islington have been announced as the first winner of the MyLocalPitch 'Outstanding London Sports Venue Award'.
The Islington ground, which was reopened by Arsenal’s Liam Brady in September following a £2.1m refurbishment, has two full-size and three 5-a-side 3G pitches as well as an eight team changing room, a training room and improved spectator viewing facilities. The ground also plays hosts to a variety of local leagues and offers a comprehensive programme for juniors.
The award, which was determined by MyLocalPitch users, was based on pitch quality, venue amenities and customer experience.
The MyLocalPitch platform is for sports players who want to find and book sports venues in London. The challenge for keen sports people is having access to all these options in one place, and platforms like MyLocalPitch provide a solution for this.
MyLocalPitch covers all sports facilities in London, which extends to over 1,000 venues. This allows for more courts, pitches, gyms, pools to be used, catering for 15 different sports, which gives people more opportunities to play sports. It also encourages more people to play sport, especially at grassroots level by giving them an easy to use booking system.
