The Sport and Recreation Alliance is thrilled to confirm that our 2022 Annual General Meeting will be taking place this year on Tuesday 6 September at St James’s Palace in central London.

The event will provide members with a wonderful opportunity to network with their sector peers in a fantastic setting in the capital.

Attendees will be able to hear all about the Alliance’s activities and successes from the past 12 months and will also have the opportunity to speak to our President, HRH The Earl of Wessex who will be chairing the meeting.

Due to the capacity of the venue, there are a limited number of places available, so if you would like to come, we recommend booking as soon as possible using the link below:

We will share further details in the coming weeks of what you can expect on the day and the process for any voting procedures.

As part of our Annual General Meeting, we are also delighted to launch our annual awards – the Arthur Bell Trophy and the newly re-named Spirit of Sport and Recreation Award, formerly the Emeritus Award.

These awards recognise individuals and organisations who have made sustained and considerable contributions to the work of the sport and recreation sector.

The Arthur Bell Trophy is presented to an individual or organisation that has had an outstanding impact on the development of community sport and recreation - locally, nationally and/or internationally - while the Spirit of Sport and Recreation Award recognises volunteers in our sector who have dedicated their lives to helping to get the nation active.

Prince Edward will again be on hand to host the awards and to congratulate and celebrate with our winners on the day. Nominations are now open for the 2022 Awards, and we encourage you to submit your nomination as soon as possible.
