Judging for the Sport and Recreation Alliance’s Sports Club of the Year (SCOTY) awards took place today, 9 March, at our offices in central London. BBC Sport’s Eleanor Oldroyd chaired the judging panel which included Rodney Hinds, sports editor of the Voice newspaper, and our very own Sallie Barker.

The awards reward outstanding clubs – clubs that have forged strong links with local clubs; clubs which have gone out of their way to welcome new members; clubs which have performed exceptionally elsewhere – and carry a prize fund of £12,500. Clubs were nominated in the following categories:
  • Community Sports Club of the Year
  • Open and Inclusive Club of the Year
  • Best Club Volunteer Management Programme
  • Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) of the Year
  • School Club Links Award – in conjunction with the Youth Sport Trust
  • Professional Sports Club Community Programme of the Year
The awards ceremony takes place on 3 May at the Grange St Paul’s Hotel in central London and precedes the Sport and Recreation Alliance’s National Conference, which takes place on the following day at the same location.

You can book your place at the Sports Club of the Year Awards on 3 May, as well as at the Sport and Recreation Alliance National Conference on 4 May.
