Following a ballot of the new Sport and Recreation Alliance board, Andy Reed OBE has been re-elected as chair for the next two-year period – starting today and continuing until the Alliance’s annual general meeting (AGM) in 2015.
Andy Reed, Alliance chair said:
“I’m delighted to have been re-elected for another two-year term. The Alliance has made great strides in the past two years – introducing constitutional reforms, leading the sector into exciting new policy areas and providing more valuable services to our members – and as we embark on what is undoubtedly a golden era for British sport I hope too that this will be reflected in our work going forward.
“I want to ensure there is continuous improvement and modernisation of the organisation so that the Sport and Recreation Alliance is able to meet the challenges of 21st century sport to promote and provide for our members."
The AGM also saw Paul Thorogood and Lyn West begin their three-year terms as elected members of the Alliance board.
Howard Wells OBE begins a new three-year term as an appointed director.
