The Sport and Recreation Alliance is delighted to announce a partnership with full-service law firm JMW, who become the organisation’s official legal partner.
JMW is an award-winning law firm renowned for being a leading provider of legal services tailored to the specific requirements of the sports industry.
The firm has a market leading sports team who offer expertise, support and solutions for all its clients within the sports sector. The team’s services range from preparing and negotiating sports related commercial agreements (such as sponsorship agreements, partnership agreements, etc.) to protecting and commercialising clients’ intellectual property.
The Alliance will be working closely with JMW to ensure we have an understanding of legal issues affecting our members, which will be of immense benefit in our campaigning and influencing work.
Members will also have the opportunity to speak to experts from JMW during the partnership. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for more information.
John Burns, Head of the Intellectual Property & Commercial team at JMW, said:
“We are delighted to be partnering with the Sport and Recreation Alliance who do a fantastic job championing grassroots sport. Our teams are looking forward to working with members across a variety of legal matters and, through their expertise in the sports sector, being able to support members moving forward.”
On confirmation of the partnership, Alliance CEO, Lisa Wainwright MBE, said:
“We are very pleased to welcome JMW on board as our official legal partner. Their experience and expertise in the sports sector makes this partnership an ideal fit, and we look forward to working closely together.
“We are also pleased that our members will have opportunities to speak to experts from the sports law team at JMW at various events throughout our partnership. JMW are experts in their field and we believe this partnership will be of great benefit to both the Alliance and our members.”
We welcome the publication of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee’s “Game On: Community and School Sport” report, which identifies a series of recommendations to government to strengthen grassroots sport and physical activity.
