Achieve.’ – this report outlines how the Alliance returned to in-person events and training, collaborated with sector partners to enhance the support for its members and utilised its new Research and Development department to demonstrate the social impact of activity.
Lisa Wainwright MBE, CEO of the Sport and Recreation Alliance, said, “Over the last year we have remained committed to supporting our members to recover from the challenges that have presented themselves in our post-pandemic world.
“It was heartening to be able to welcome so many of our members back to in-person training and events over the previous 12 months. This enhanced collaboration and networking has been even more important as we have shared inspiration and support to help us navigate an ever-changing sector.
“We have continued to advocate and lobby on issues that affect physical activity and its delivery across the country – from the changing political climate to the current cost of living crisis.
“We find ourselves in a situation where grassroots activity and the benefits it brings, must be protected to allow communities to prosper and we believe sport, recreation and physical activity can play a more central role in the Government’s wider policy ambitions.
“We will steadfastly work alongside our members to protect their activity and ensure the long-term sustainability of sport and recreation, so that communities across the country can continue to benefit from the positive power of physical activity.”
