Taking place on Wednesday 6 April in Birmingham, the Fit for the Future Convention provides guests with an ideal opportunity for networking, engagement and business opportunity.

Our annual event will welcome a number of leading exhibitors who will be showcasing a range of technology solutions and services, all under one roof.  

Having provided the ticketing platform for the Convention, GameDay will be one of the organisations in attendance on the day to offer their professional expertise and free support.

We got in touch with their Director of Strategy, Greg Sturge, to find out more about the company and what they feel are the benefits and future of digital technologies in the sector.

What will attendees learn from visiting GameDay at Fit for the Future?

Attendees will have a chance to meet our team and see that there is a core system technology provider whose sole purpose is to run in their shoes and understand their needs.

Our customers and clients are the ones who shape our development pipeline, which is publicly available to view, meaning that every piece of tech and dev we release is directly supporting the enhanced delivery of our members.

We also love talking about tech pain-points - so even if you don't want a new system, feel free to come and vent (and perhaps hear about something we could do that might fix it)!

Can you tell us a bit more about who you are currently working with?

Firstly, GameDay is proud to be partnered with the Sport & Recreation Alliance to deliver our next-generation events management platform for the event, which you all would've used to sign up to attend.

Beyond that, we specialise in supporting leading national governing bodies, notably the Rugby Football League - whose LeagueNet whole-sport membership and competition management platform has now been powering the sport's delivery across the country for over 6 years.

The RFL are one in our global portfolio of NGBs that include organisations from Basketball Australia and Hong Kong Rugby Union, to New Zealand Surf Life Saving and Cricket Ireland. We also have experience working with professional clubs and their charitable Foundations to deliver eCommerce and Auctions solutions, including all 18 AFL professional teams to Brentford Football Community Sports Trust and the UEFA Foundation. 

What are the advantages of sport and recreation organisations adopting certain technologies?

Implementing the right technologies in sport and recreation gives organisations the strongest data platform from which to make informed business decisions, whilst easing and streamlining administrative burdens.

Everything that GameDay does is about those two objectives - providing the data spine of your sport, including the core use of our GameDay View business intelligence offer and our data lake capabilities, and then using that data to save thousands of hours of administrative time and burden across both the organisation and its frontline communities and volunteers. 

What are your hopes for the event in April?

We are primarily just excited to meet the sector again, coming off the back of the pandemic, and to share in the experience of being in a room and able to meet face to face once again.

Of course, we are also hoping to speak to as many attendees as possible about who we are, what we can offer, and how we may be able to help with their efforts to further embrace digital technology in their sport and organisation.
