The Sport and Recreation Alliance has announced an additional category to its Sports Club of the Year Awards. The Professional Sports Club Community Programme of the Year will recognise the excellent work which the UK’s elite clubs do in their local communities. Entries are currently being welcomed and the Sport and Recreation Alliance is encouraging sports bodies to let their members know about the competition.

The award will be made at the Sport and Recreation Alliance’s Sports Club of the Year gala dinner which will take place in a prestigious central London venue on 3 May. Last year’s Sports Club of the Year Prizes were presented by Sport and Recreation Alliance President HRH The Earl of Wessex. The application form for the Professional Sports Club Community Programme of the Year can be downloaded and must be returned by 25 February when entries close.
