Leadership Convention 2015 - Full programme released

The full programme for this year’s Leadership Convention has been released today.

The event, taking place on 3-4 November at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Nottingham, will bring over 100 sports leaders together for the opportunity to network with peers and to pick up leadership insights from a great array of speakers.

With a theme this year focused on Building for the future, the core elements of the Convention will expand on the Alliance's work programme to help the sector become Fit for the Future.

Through a combination of plenary sessions and workshops, delegates will be asked to consider their familiarity with the challenges and opportunities facing the sector and the skills needed as a leader to navigate them.

Sally Munday, Chief Executive of England Hockey, will be attending this year’s Leadership Convention and put in to words what the draw is for sports leaders:

“The Sport and Recreation Alliance Leadership Convention is now a must attend event in my diary each year – WHY? There are two main reasons I attend. Firstly the Sport and Recreation Alliance are now bringing in really interesting speakers from outside our industry to talk about topics that are very relevant to the challenges we face and there is real value in learning how other industries think and approach these issues. Secondly, the event now attracts many of my CEO colleagues from NGBs, CSPs, commercial and other partners and it is a great opportunity for me to catch up with and learn from my peers, meet new contacts as well as fit in key business meetings over a short period of time in one location.

“I accept when I go to events like this that not every speaker and workshop will be valuable to me but there is always enough at the event that is thought provoking and stimulating and the programme is balanced so that I have enough time to listen, reflect and engage. I am really looking forward to hearing Sir Martin Narey speak – although I have heard him before his thoughts on courage and integrity in leadership are definitely worth hearing again”.
