National Sector Partners Group urges PM to prioritise sport, recreation and physical activity in Spending Review or risk extra costs to Treasury and NHS

The National Sector Partners Group (NSPG) has written to the Prime Minister ahead of next week’s Spending Review to urge the Government to back the sector through a sustained plan for investment and a clear strategy for increasing participation in sport and physical activity.

This chart illustrates how many adults and children take part in the recommended amount of sport or physical activity every week, based on the Chief Medical Officer's guidelines (150 minutes moderate intensity activity a week for adults, 60 minutes for children), and reported by Sport England.
